Hi, I brought my laptop home from the office and wanted to use it on my home printer. In the printer list I deleted the office printer and hooked up my laptop to my HP printer.

I downloaded the HP driver, restarted the computer and the HP printer (1320) show up on the list, however it won't let me choose it as default. But, when I go to print any document (word, pdf, etc.), I choose the 1320 printer and it starts to work and then says printer stopped. I click restart and it tries for a moment and then stops. I am connecting to the printer via USB. Also, after doing the above, whenever I try to open my Word program from Office 2004, it crashes before it opens, regardless of whether I try to open the program or double click on a document.

I searched around and I think that I might have a problem whereby the network printer is still somehow the default, although its name is completely gone from the list.
